British Cruise Passenger, 79, Found Dead on Ship Deck

A 79-year-old British cruise passenger passed away after being discovered unconscious on the ship’s deck in Chania, located on Crete’s northwest coast. Despite immediate medical attention, the man was pronounced dead. The Hellenic Coast Guard reported that the individual was found in an unconscious state in the morning and was subsequently transferred to the ship’s medical facility for initial aid before being transported to a private medical center in Chania via ambulance. An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the passenger’s death. The Chania Port Authority has ordered a post-mortem examination to be conducted as part of the investigation.
