The United States has initiated a new series of strikes against Iran, commencing in the early hours of the morning. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced via social media that they had launched fresh attacks at 6 am. These strikes aim to diminish Iranian military assets that have been utilized in assaults on cargo vessels navigating the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM declared, “At 6 a.m. ET today, U.S. Central Command forces initiated a wave of strikes against Iran. The objective is to further reduce the military capabilities that Iranian forces have utilized to target commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.”
In response to Tehran’s actions against ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, the US reinstated a naval blockade on Iran and escalated its airstrike campaign early on Wednesday. Iranian officials reported that American strikes targeted an Iranian army facility, resulting in the death of at least seven soldiers and injuries to over 260 individuals across the country.
