Tragic Bus Crash Claims 21 Lives in Uganda

At least 20 children and one adult tragically lost their lives in Uganda when a school bus collided with a rock on a dangerous road. The incident occurred as the group was returning from a school trip to Sipi Falls waterfalls, resulting in multiple injuries.

According to the Uganda Police Force, the driver lost control of the bus due to a suspected mechanical failure around 8pm local time on Thursday. The vehicle swerved off Chekwatit Hill in eastern Uganda, a location known for previous serious accidents.

Authorities stated that the bus, transporting students from King David Junior School in Ndejje, crashed in Chekwatit village in the Kawowo area. Minister of Local Government, Balaam Ateenyi Barugahara, confirmed the loss of 20 children and the school’s founder and director, Mr. Tadeo Ssekade, in the tragic incident.
