Tragic Discovery: Body Found in Search for Missing Men

Date:

A tragic discovery has been made in the search for two missing men near a Haven holiday park in Wales.

Police were alerted to the finding of a body on a beach in Aberystwyth at approximately 12.30pm on July 26.

The deceased individual has been identified as Connor Parfitt, one of the men who disappeared near a beach off Hafan-Y-Mor Holiday Park in Pwllheli on Tuesday evening. Connor’s family and the coroner have been notified.

The search continues for the second man, Simon Wilson, as authorities provide ongoing support to his family, according to North Wales Police.

North Wales Police had expressed concerns about the whereabouts of the pair, who were reportedly heading to the beach with inflatable kayaks around 6.30pm on July 21.

A significant search operation involving coastguards and the RNLI was initiated, with a plea for witnesses to come forward with any information regarding Simon and Connor’s location.

Chief Inspector Stephen Pawson extended sympathies to the families of Connor and Simon during this challenging period, acknowledging that the outcome was not the one hoped for by all involved in the search efforts.

Appreciation was expressed to partner agencies, volunteers, and the public for their assistance in the search operations conducted over the past six days.

Authorities continue to appeal for any information or sightings of Simon, urging individuals to contact them and reference case number O120829.
