“Teva Canada Recalls Pregabalin Capsules Over Sertraline Contamination”

Date:

Teva Canada has initiated a recall of specific Teva-Pregabalin 150 mg capsules due to potential contamination with sertraline, as revealed during routine testing. The affected lots, with reference numbers 100070495 and 100068913, were distributed in Canada starting in September 2025 and bear an expiration date of July 31, 2027.

According to Health Canada’s recall notice, individuals sensitive or allergic to sertraline may experience adverse effects or severe allergic reactions, including potentially life-threatening anaphylactic reactions, even with minimal exposure. The agency advises consumers in possession of products from the aforementioned lots to promptly return them to a pharmacy.

Pregabalin is a prescribed medication for managing nerve damage-induced pain, while sertraline is used to alleviate symptoms related to depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and panic disorders. Teva Canada, headquartered in Toronto, described the recall as a precautionary measure in its announcement released on Friday.
