An American social media influencer was discovered deceased in her upscale hotel room shortly after undergoing cosmetic surgery.
Hilde Lynn Helphenstein, also known as Jerry Gogosian, was found lifeless by her plastic surgeon after attempts to reach her by phone were unsuccessful. The surgeon decided to check on the 40-year-old at her five-star hotel in São Paulo, Brazil.
Hotel staff entered the room and found Hilde unresponsive in bed, with an empty vodka bottle, a broken glass, and unidentified pills nearby. The surgeon mentioned taking her to an emergency unit earlier due to a suspected overdose and her reported substance use.
Hilde, originally from Oakland, California, had been in São Paulo for three weeks recovering from a cosmetic procedure when she was discovered on May 31.
Authorities have classified the case as a ‘suspicious death’ at the 78th District Police Station in Jardins.
With a following of over 150,000 followers on Instagram, Hilde critiqued contemporary art world norms with satire. She graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute and was involved in various art-related projects, including hosting the podcast Art Smack and collaborating with notable entities like Sotheby’s, Phillips, and Playboy.
Her final social media posts expressed joy about her time in Brazil, offering light-hearted advice and excitement about her experiences there.
