“Britain Braces for Early Summer Heat Wave, London to Hit 28C”

Date:

Britain is preparing for a fresh wave of early summer heat, as the latest Met Office weather forecasts indicate temperatures reaching the high 20s in parts of England and Wales later this week. London and surrounding areas could experience a scorching 28C by 4pm on Friday, with southern and central England also enjoying temperatures above 20C.

The Met Office temperature maps for June 19 show the warmest conditions concentrated in southeast England, while Scotland and Northern Ireland will remain cooler. By 7pm, London is still expected to be at a warm 27C.

Manchester is forecasted to reach 21C, with Cardiff close behind at 20C. However, this warm spell is not expected to last long.

Rainfall maps for June 19 reveal wet weather moving into southwestern UK regions, with showers and rain advancing northeastward, bringing cooler conditions and dampening the warmth. The southwest and Irish Sea coast are likely to experience the heaviest rainfall.

As the rain arrives, temperatures are expected to drop significantly. While some eastern and southeastern areas may remain warm, maximum temperatures are projected to peak around 26C on June 20.

According to the Met Office forecast for Wednesday to Friday, rain will clear to give way to sunshine and showers on Wednesday, with the northwest experiencing further rain on Thursday and Friday. The southeast is expected to be mostly dry, turning very warm and humid.

Looking ahead to June 19 to June 28, the Met Office suggests the possibility of hot and humid weather in parts of south and southeast Britain, potentially accompanied by thunderstorms. Towards the latter part of June, high pressure may bring drier, settled conditions with temperatures likely remaining above average.

The Met Office warns that long-range forecasts beyond five days may be influenced by atmospheric changes, with small events over the Atlantic impacting future weather in the UK and Ireland.
