Canada’s Cindy Tye, the head coach, has unveiled the squad set to compete in the upcoming under-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland. The roster, comprising 21 players, features three goalkeepers, five defenders, eight midfielders, and five forwards for the tournament scheduled from September 5 to 27. Additionally, six alternates will accompany the team to Poland to aid in preparations before the World Cup kicks off.
The team, along with players, coaches, and staff, will convene in Lublin, Poland, on August 23, before shifting to their tournament base camp in Bielsko-Biala on August 30. A closed-door match against Spain is scheduled for August 31. Canada, part of the 24 nations competing in the tournament, is placed in Group B. The team’s campaign commences against England on September 5, followed by a match against Brazil on September 8. The group stage concludes on September 11 with a game against Tanzania.
Canada secured their spot in the U-20 World Cup after clinching the regional title for the third time at the 2025 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship. Coach Tye expressed the team’s readiness for the challenge ahead, emphasizing the opportunity to showcase Canadian talent on the global stage.
The full roster includes Noelle Henning (Michigan State University), Madison London (Creighton University), and Khadijah Cisse (University of Kentucky) as goalkeepers. Defenders feature Bridget Mutipula (Florida State University/Vancouver Rise FC), Iba Oching (University of Iowa), Janet Okeke (Florida State University), Stephanie Schoeley (Providence College), and Chloe Taylor (Vancouver Rise FC).
The midfield is composed of Olivia Chisholm (AFC Toronto), Jadea Collin (University of Wisconsin—Madison), Sienna Gibson (University of British Columbia), Jeneva Hernandez Gray (Sporting CP), Teegan Melenhorst (University of Miami), Ines Nourani (University of Connecticut), Noelle Sather (Baylor University), and Liana Tarasco (University of Iowa).
The forward lineup includes Sariyah Bailey (Louisiana State University), Annabelle Chukwu (University of Notre Dame), Kaylee Hunter (AFC Toronto), Lea Larouche (University of Iowa), and Emma Yee (University of Illinois). The alternates are Amy Medley (Arizona State University), Victoria Rocci (University of South Alabama), Taegen Stewart (Calgary Wild), Emily Wong (North Carolina State University), Kierra Blundell (Arizona State University), and Melisa Kekic (University of Michigan).
