“Car Crashes into Nottingham Flat, Forces Evacuation”

Date:

Residents were instructed to evacuate an apartment building following a car crashing into a ground-floor flat late last night. Emergency services quickly responded to the incident at the intersection of Arkwright Way and Meadows Way in Nottingham between 9pm and 10pm on Friday.

Pictures from the scene at Ryehill House flats in The Meadows depict a green BMW that had collided with an apartment, seemingly entering through a kitchen area. The entire front of the vehicle penetrated the building, causing a nearby street sign to be knocked over, resulting in scattered brick debris, glass shards, and foliage across the floor.

Authorities have cordoned off the area, with police officers securing the crash site this Saturday morning. The four-story flat complex is situated close to a bustling dual carriageway linking the city to West Bridgeford, as detailed in reports from Nottingham Post.

A police officer at the scene informed media that residents in the three flats above the impacted apartment were advised to vacate due to concerns about potential structural damage.

A resident occupying another ground-floor flat recounted being awakened by a loud noise during the night, stating, “I heard a commotion, looked outside and saw there was a new garage. I want to know how it got there from the road.”
