EasyJet Strike Alert: Italy Flights Disrupted

Date:

Passengers flying with EasyJet to or from Italy on July 5 should stay alert for potential disruptions due to strike action by airline workers. Travel expert Kate Donnelly advises travelers to closely monitor their communication channels for any updates as the situation may evolve rapidly. The strike, scheduled for July 5, is expected to impact EasyJet’s Italian operations, leading to possible flight delays and cancellations.

According to reports, the strike will last for 24 hours on July 5, affecting flights throughout the day. EasyJet pilots and flight attendants in Italy are set to strike, potentially causing flight disruptions. Travelers are advised to check their flight status with the airline as flights to and from Italian airports may be affected.

Kate highlights that the strike affects all EasyJet flights in Italy, irrespective of the departure or arrival airport. Passengers should be prepared for delays or cancellations and stay updated through app notifications and emails for any changes made by the airline in advance.

In case EasyJet reschedules a flight due to the strike, passengers are entitled to compensation as it is not considered an extraordinary circumstance. However, if the rescheduling is caused by factors like Air Traffic Control issues or airport staff strikes, passengers may receive a refund or a new booking without additional compensation.

Even if the airline is not at fault, EasyJet is obligated to assist passengers in case of flight disruptions, including providing necessary care and compensation. To claim compensation or expenses for a delayed or canceled flight, passengers can submit a claim through the official EasyJet Compensation Claims Portal using their booking reference and flight number.
