A former Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has expressed concern that the Ebola outbreak may escalate into a significant pandemic. Robert Redfield, speaking on NewsNation on May 20, stated his belief that the situation could lead to a widespread impact, potentially spreading to regions such as Tanzania, southern Sudan, and Rwanda.
Redfield emphasized the potential for disruption, highlighting the seriousness of the situation. Ebola is known for its high level of contagion through bodily fluids, often resulting in severe symptoms such as haemorrhagic fever, rapid organ failure, and internal or external bleeding.
