An Edinburgh resident tragically passed away while vacationing in Spain.
The man, who remains unidentified, was on holiday with his wife in Mallorca when he unexpectedly died on April 15 at the Puerto Azul Suite Hotel in Puerto Pollensa. The exact cause of death is still unknown.
The British Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) has confirmed that they are providing assistance to the man’s family and are in communication with the Spanish authorities.
A spokesperson from the FCDO stated that they are supporting the family of the deceased British national in Spain and are coordinating with local authorities, as reported by Edinburgh Live.
The Puerto Azul Suite Hotel, a four-star establishment in Puerto Pollensa, offers stunning views of the UNESCO World Heritage Tramuntana mountain range and is conveniently located near beaches, making it a popular choice for British tourists.
In a separate incident, Chiara Jaconis, 30, was fatally injured during her birthday trip to Naples, Italy, when she was hit by an onyx statue thrown by a 13-year-old boy. Despite undergoing emergency surgery, Chiara succumbed to traumatic brain injuries two days later.
The Mirror has reached out to The Puerto Azul Suite Hotel for a statement.
