“Eight Rescued After Seaplane Crash in NYC River”

Date:

Eight individuals were successfully rescued following a seaplane crash in a river, marking the second such incident within the last month.

The privately-owned Quest Kodiak 100 aircraft went down in New York City’s East River on Sunday, June 5, shortly after noon while heading towards the seaplane terminal on the city’s east side. The plane had departed from The Hamptons, a prestigious area on Long Island. It was observed that the seaplane had partially capsized, with one of its wings submerged.

Video footage depicted the rescue operation involving at least five ships and another seaplane in the area between Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Two passengers sustained minor injuries in the crash, but all passengers were successfully rescued, and the seaplane was later towed to the docks.

This incident involving the Kodiak 100 plane is the second seaplane rescue from the East River in recent weeks, following a similar incident near the Throgs Neck Bridge in Queens where a plane was hit by a wave during take-off.

Authorities have stated that an investigation into the crash is currently underway.
