A tragic incident occurred in western Turkey where a bus crashed and burst into flames, resulting in the loss of eight lives, including a 9-month-old infant, as reported by local media. The bus, operated by Pamukkale Tourism, collided with highway barriers in Denizli province at 1:40 am TRT on Sunday (11:40 pm BST on Saturday) while transporting 38 passengers and three staff members from Izmir to Antalya. The Demiroren News Agency disclosed that approximately 33 individuals sustained injuries during the accident. Among the deceased were the 50-year-old driver and the father of the infant. Images captured post-accident depicted the charred remains of the bus beside the road.
This tragic event unfolded on the final day of Eid al-Adha, a religious festival often associated with increased traffic incidents in Turkey due to the widespread travel for familial visits and vacations.
