The Met Office has issued a weather warning for snow, hail, and thunder in the UK tomorrow, with temperatures expected to drop significantly.
According to the national weather agency, there will be prolonged showers in England and Wales on Saturday. While some areas may experience sunny spells, heavy showers, hail, hill snow, and isolated thunderstorms are also anticipated.
Weather models indicate that snowfall is likely in 11 cities, including Northern Ireland, Wales, the north-west of England, and western Scotland. By midday, the snow is expected to spread across southern and western Scotland, with additional flurries in Wales and the north-west of England. Meanwhile, rain is forecasted for eastern and southern England during the same period.
The Met Office predicts the possibility of wintry showers continuing into Sunday. The forecast for Sunday to Tuesday includes rain spreading southeastwards on Sunday, followed by northern gales and wintry showers. Monday is expected to be mostly dry but with increasing winds, while Tuesday will be mild and cloudy with occasional rain and stronger winds.
The BBC forecast also indicates a breezy day with sunny spells, variable cloud cover, and scattered showers on Saturday. Sunday will start with sunshine in the south and east, but heavy rain and strong winds are expected to move in from the north-west later in the day.
Looking ahead, the Met Office suggests a chance of wintry showers in April, with temperatures remaining around average but the possibility of colder periods. The forecast for April 1 to 11 mentions the likelihood of deeper lows bringing wetter and windier weather, with high pressure potentially leading to settled conditions later in the period. Colder interludes, especially in the north, may bring wintry showers at times.
