The sibling of the deceased individual discovered in Michael Barrymore’s swimming pool is urging the authorities to conduct fresh forensic examinations to help unravel the mystery surrounding the case.
Stuart Lubbock, aged 31, tragically passed away at a party hosted at the residence of the former television personality in 2001. Lubbock displayed internal injuries indicative of a severe sexual assault post the consumption of cocaine and ecstasy.
Former game show host Barrymore, now 74 years old, was apprehended alongside two other individuals in 2007 in connection to the incident but was subsequently released without any charges pressed against them.
As the 25th anniversary of Stuart’s untimely demise approaches, his brother Kevin, aged 55, has expressed his hope for modern DNA techniques to shed light on the circumstances that led to Stuart’s injuries. Kevin emphasized the importance of retesting all critical evidence with the advancements in scientific technology over the past 25 years.
On the night of the incident in 2001, Barrymore, accompanied by his then-partner Jonathan Kenney, had been at a nightclub in Essex before inviting several locals, including Stuart, to his home for a gathering. Substances like alcohol, cannabis, and cocaine were reportedly consumed, leading to a distressing discovery of a man in the pool, prompting an emergency call at 5:48 am.
Despite initial arrests made in relation to the case, no conclusive evidence has been obtained, leaving Stuart’s family and friends longing for justice and closure. Essex Police reassured their commitment to resolving the mystery, encouraging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation processes.
