Fatal Train-Bus Collision at Bangkok Airport Station

At least six individuals lost their lives in a tragic incident today when a train collided with a bus near a bustling airport in Bangkok, Thailand. The collision occurred at a level-crossing underneath the Makkasan station, a location frequently used by a monorail transporting numerous travelers to the airport at regular intervals.

The collision took place at approximately 3:40 pm local time on Saturday at the rail line crossing Asok-Din Daeng Road. Emergency responders swiftly intervened, spraying water to control the ensuing blaze and attending to the injured individuals who were subsequently transported to nearby medical facilities. By 3:59 pm, the fire had been successfully contained.

Eyewitness footage captured the dramatic scene, showing a car and a large blue public transport bus engulfed in flames, with onlookers rushing to move a second car away from the danger zone. Additionally, several motorcycles were strewn across the area.

Paramedics present at the scene confirmed the tragic loss of at least six lives due to the collision, while several others sustained injuries. Local residents reported hearing minor explosions following the impact. However, authorities have yet to confirm the total number of casualties or determine the exact cause of the collision.
