“Glasgow Man Vanishes in Tokyo Poker Mystery”

Date:

A man from the United Kingdom has disappeared in Tokyo after participating in a poker game in the city’s red-light district.

Alistair Roberts, hailing from Glasgow, left the game early on Saturday morning and has not been in contact since then, causing concern among his family members.

His sudden disappearance at the age of 37 is highly unusual, leaving his loved ones worried about his well-being.

Roberts was last seen on a live camera feed from Kabukicho, a well-known red-light area dubbed the “sleepless town,” exiting a poker establishment at 4:30 am before going missing.

Having recently returned to Tokyo to be with his fiancée, Roberts had communicated with his partner at 3 am, as per his friend Charles Hatch.

His phone has been inactive since then, with no one able to reach him. A report of his disappearance has been lodged with the Tokyo police, who have confirmed that he is not under their supervision.

Efforts to contact the UK embassy have been initiated, alongside attempts to inform Roberts’ family in the UK about his mysterious disappearance.

Expatriates, travelers, and locals are being urged to share any information they may have regarding Roberts’ whereabouts.

Charles Hatch mentioned, “Authorities are investigating his case, although they speculate that he might have intentionally vanished, despite appearing fine during his last sighting. This behavior is completely out of character, given that he had just returned to Japan to reunite with his fiancée and was in good mental health.”

“While there is a possibility that he is in police custody, law enforcement has denied this claim so far. Moreover, Roberts frequents the Kabukicho area regularly, making it improbable that he followed any unauthorized guides.”
