“Iran’s President Condemns Killing of Supreme Leader”

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has condemned the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as an act of aggression against Muslims. Pezeshkian, speaking on state television amidst rising tensions, characterized the incident as an escalation that could widen the conflict.

He emphasized that the assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei, a significant figure in Shiism globally, is viewed as a direct assault on Muslims, particularly Shiites worldwide. Pezeshkian asserted that seeking revenge is not only a legitimate right but also a duty in response to such a grave provocation.

Labeling the killing as a severe blow to the Islamic world, Pezeshkian vowed that Iran considers it a responsibility to pursue justice and retribution against those responsible for the heinous crime. The fate of Pezeshkian himself remains uncertain, with questions arising about his survival following recent attacks.
