“Jealous Ex Attacks Pregnant Woman: Sentenced to Prison”

Date:

A pregnant woman was attacked by her jealous ex-partner in an attempt to restart their relationship after he was released from prison. The incident occurred when Kieran Walton accused her of being involved with other men while he was incarcerated, resulting in a heated argument.

Following verbal abuse and taunting, Walton turned violent when the woman revealed she was recording the altercation. He physically assaulted her by pushing her over a sofa, biting her back, and subsequently striking her face while restricting her breathing by grabbing her throat.

Walton, who had a history of violence towards the woman and had served a previous sentence for assaulting her, was apprehended and faced charges at Newcastle Crown Court. The prosecution detailed the events, highlighting the physical and emotional distress inflicted on the victim.

The court sentenced Walton to 21 months in prison for causing bodily harm and intentional strangulation. The judge emphasized the severity of such actions, particularly the danger of strangulation, which can lead to unconsciousness or death in a short period.

In his defense, Walton’s lawyer mentioned his struggles with mental health issues and commended his work ethic. The article also provided information for individuals needing support related to domestic abuse, directing them to the National Domestic Abuse Freephone Helpline and advocacy organizations.

The incident serves as a reminder of the devastating impact of domestic violence and the importance of seeking help and support in such situations.
