A man, identified as Asad Hussain or Ash Hussain, aged 36, has been convicted of a disturbing case of harassment. The Cheshire Police disclosed that men started showing up at a woman’s home in 2024, claiming she had matched with them on Tinder and had invited them over.
These men alleged receiving messages from the woman expressing interest in ‘rape fantasy’ and being ‘roughed up’. The truth emerged that the woman’s ex-partner, Hussain, had set up a fake Tinder profile using her photos, sharing her contact details with at least 18 strangers, encouraging them to visit her residence.
Hussain, residing in Hankinson Avenue, Heald Green, Stockport, was found guilty of stalking causing serious distress, assault by beating, and failure to comply with a section 49 RIPA notice at Chester Crown Court on May 1.
The court was informed that Hussain, under the alias ‘Mick Renney’, had a controlling demeanor towards the victim, invading her privacy and interrogating her activities. After their relationship ended, he attempted to reconcile with her, but all his efforts were rebuffed.
Subsequently, numerous men started appearing at the woman’s address, claiming to have interacted with her on Tinder. Some men reported receiving messages suggesting her interest in ‘rape fantasy’ and being ‘roughed up’. One man even forced entry into her home based on messages from the fraudulent account.
Cheshire Police stated that approximately 18 men, though the exact number remains uncertain, provided their information to aid the investigation. They received instructions from the fake account to enter the woman’s home upon arrival.
Despite efforts to conceal his identity, including using fake accounts and disposing of devices, Hussain was arrested in October 2024. Further charges were brought against him in September 2025 for failing to disclose passwords.
Following a nine-day trial, a jury at Chester Crown Court found Hussain guilty of the offenses. A police officer involved in the case described it as one of the most troubling cases they had handled, emphasizing the victim’s bravery and the support she received.
Investigating officer PC Keith Terrill condemned Hussain’s actions, highlighting the impact on the victim and her children. He urged potential victims in similar situations to contact the police for assistance.
Hussain’s sentencing is scheduled for a later date.
