A massive fire erupted at a large Honda facility near Barcelona, specifically at the Honda Motor España plant in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda. Thick smoke can be seen billowing from the site. The blaze started on the roof of the building, which is equipped with solar panels, prompting the dispatch of 17 fire engines to the scene.
Authorities have advised nearby residents to avoid the fire area and refrain from engaging in outdoor activities. They also recommend closing doors and windows if affected by smoke. Emergency services are diligently working to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the industrial estate. The incident has led to significant traffic congestion on the nearby AP-7 motorway.
Videos captured from a nearby highway show smoke emanating from the burning facility. Additionally, footage shared by the local fire service displays rescue teams at the location amidst billowing smoke. The fire service reported that the fire has engulfed an industrial warehouse within the Torre del Rector industrial estate, dedicated to the automotive industry.
Firefighters are currently combating the flames engulfing the Honda company’s warehouse with all available resources. Thankfully, the building has been evacuated, and there have been no reported injuries.
