“Massive Fire Rages Through Renovated St Andrews Hotel”

A massive fire has swept through a recently renovated hotel in St Andrews, causing significant traffic disruptions on nearby roads. Firefighters responded to the incident at St Michaels Inn, close to Leuchars, at approximately 10 pm on Tuesday. At the peak of the blaze, nine fire trucks and four specialized units were deployed to the location. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries.

As of Wednesday morning, six fire trucks and three specialized units remained at the site, actively working to extinguish the intense fire, according to reports from the Daily Record. Local fire authorities have advised residents in the vicinity to keep their windows and doors shut.

Fife Council posted on social media, stating, “Major traffic disruptions are occurring on roads in North East Fife, heading towards Dundee, due to the fire at St Michael’s Inn.” The affected routes include A914 (Dairsie to St Michaels), A919 (Leuchars to St Michaels), B945 (Tayport to St Michaels), and the C12 between A92 and A914, from Forgan Roundabout to St Michaels.

A representative from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mentioned, “Firefighters are currently present at the scene of a fire at St. Michaels Inn, Leuchars, St Andrews.” “Six fire trucks and three specialized units are still on-site. It is advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. Residents nearby are requested to close their windows and doors as a precaution.”

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
