Meghan Markle commemorated her eighth wedding anniversary with Prince Harry by sharing a series of photos on social media. The Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to post 24 pictures from their 2018 wedding, split into two separate posts. The images included moments from their daytime ceremony at Windsor Castle and the evening reception, featuring not only the couple but also some family members like her mother, Doria, and King Charles.
One particular photo captured Meghan looking towards Prince Charles, who escorted her down the aisle in the absence of her father. Another image showed Charles looking at his son Harry during the church entrance. The inclusion of King Charles in Meghan’s anniversary post raised eyebrows amidst rumors of strained relations between him and the couple.
Royal photographer Chris Jackson’s event at Highgrove sparked interest as a photo of Harry and Meghan’s wedding, previously displayed on Charles’s table, had been removed. Speculation arose about the significance of this change leading up to the anniversary. Butler Grant Harrold suggested that the decision to move the picture was made by the King himself.
Apart from the photo featuring Charles, Meghan shared more wedding pictures taken by photographer Chris Allerton. The images included intimate moments before the reception, official wedding portraits, interactions with family and guests, speeches, and the couple’s first dance. The series captured the magic of their fairytale wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle eight years ago.
