A mother was initially informed of her baby’s death only to discover hours later that her son was alive. Letícia Cristina da Cruz Santos gave birth to Noah Gabriel da Cruz Santos in Sao Paolo, Brazil on June 15. Noah, born one month premature, was later moved to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Santa Casa hospital while awaiting transfer for necessary surgery. Unfortunately, he experienced a cardiac and respiratory event during this time.
Following the incident, the hospital stated that Noah received CPR for 45 minutes, but despite their efforts, he was declared deceased later that day. The hospital emphasized that they followed all protocols diligently, citing the high standards of Brazil’s death confirmation procedures.
Letícia, who witnessed the events, shared her experience on social media, praising the hospital’s care for Noah during his hospitalization. She expressed gratitude for the miraculous turn of events and the hospital staff’s dedication to resuscitating Noah.
Regina Célia Paschoal, a funeral worker with 17 years of experience, recounted the surprising moment when she discovered Noah moving inside the body bag after he was believed to be deceased. Subsequently, medical staff re-examined Noah, confirmed his vitality, and readmitted him to the neonatal unit for immediate intensive care.
In a twist of fate, Noah’s revival coincided with the day he was originally expected to be born, despite arriving prematurely. Letícia described the emotional moment when she learned of her son’s survival, expressing her gratitude and astonishment.
