Model Janice Dickinson Sues ITV for Fall Injuries

Date:

Renowned model Janice Dickinson is pursuing legal action, claiming she suffered a fall during the filming of the South Africa edition of I’m A Celebrity… due to the effects of prescribed sleeping medication provided by an ITV medic. Dickinson, aged 70, has initiated a lawsuit seeking compensation in excess of six figures for enduring “permanent facial deformities and nerve damage” as a result of the incident.

According to legal documents, the medication administered to Dickinson can lead to drowsiness and impaired balance, rendering her “particularly vulnerable” to accidents while navigating in the dark. Close sources to Dickinson have disclosed that she now suffers from enduring facial nerve damage and significant scarring on her face.

This mishap, described by Dickinson as “the most frightening night of my life,” has had a detrimental impact on her modeling career, as she is a veteran in the industry, having represented major fashion brands like Chanel, Dior, and Gianni Versace. A source mentioned, “The trauma she experienced has dealt a severe blow to her professional endeavors.”

Legal filings by Taylor Hampton at London’s High Court assert that Dickinson now endures permanent facial scarring, deformity, and nerve damage that are irreversible through surgical or non-surgical means, affecting her appearance, facial mobility, and sensation.

Dickinson is now seeking legal recourse against ITV, holding them accountable for compensation, and has filed a lawsuit against ITV Studios in London’s High Court. Sources close to her suggest that the combination of the prescribed medication and the lack of illumination in the camp contributed to the severe fall.

Identifying herself as the world’s first supermodel, Dickinson, who has had Sylvester Stallone among her former partners, had previously participated in the Australian edition of I’m A Celeb in 2007 before joining the South African edition.

It is believed that the absence of a nightlight in the camp could have contributed to the accident, as Dickinson reportedly tripped in the dark while heading to the restroom during the early hours, resulting in severe injuries to her face and wrists.

An ITV Studios spokesperson responded by stating, “Janice Dickinson’s claim has been received and reviewed. I’m A Celebrity maintains stringent safety measures, prioritizing the health, safety, and well-being of all participants.

“We do not align with this narrative. However, we provided assistance to Janice at the time, covered her medical expenses, arranged her return to Los Angeles, and remained in constant communication with Janice and her representatives even after she returned to the United States until the show aired seven
