Celia Hammond, once a prominent model in the 1960s, gracing numerous Vogue covers and even inspiring a song by Donovan, made a significant career shift by leaving the fashion world to focus on rescuing cats. Now, after four decades of running the Celia Hammond Animal Trust, she is leading a fundraising campaign to support more animals in need.
Expressing the importance of animal welfare, Celia stressed that compassion toward animals reflects our societal values. With over 73,000 animals rehomed under her care, the 85-year-old advocate aims to raise funds for a new animal center alongside the trust’s existing clinic in Lewisham, London.
