“Nigel Farage’s Reform Party Linked to Offshore Funding Surge”

Date:

A recent analysis has uncovered that Nigel Farage’s political party, Reform, received a substantial amount of its funding from individuals and entities with ties to offshore tax havens. Out of the £18.6 million donated to the party last year, approximately £15 million was linked to offshore sources, constituting nearly 80% of the total contributions.

The most significant donor to Reform was Christopher Harborne, a crypto investor based in Thailand, who made a substantial contribution of £12 million in the previous year, including an unprecedented £9 million donation. Additional investigations into Harborne’s life in Thailand were conducted by the Mirror.

Moreover, it was disclosed that before the last general election, Harborne gifted Nigel Farage a separate £5 million, with Farage claiming it was to ensure his financial security for life. This donation was later characterized by Farage as a token of appreciation for his efforts in the Brexit campaign.

Other notable donors to Reform included party treasurer Nick Candy, who donated £990,000, and deputy leader Richard Tice, who contributed £613,000 through his company. Bassim Haidar, a businessman who relocated from the UK to Dubai due to changes in tax regulations, also donated £355,000.

In total, these individuals, all former Conservative supporters, contributed nearly £14 million to Reform in the previous year. Additionally, various other donors with offshore connections provided donations ranging from £25,000 to £200,000 in 2025.

A detailed investigation revealed that a significant portion of Reform’s funding, totaling £12.55 million, came from five donors who provided overseas addresses to Companies House. Furthermore, £733,000 in donations from 18 individuals could not be definitively identified.

While there are no allegations of misconduct against Reform UK or its donors, the analysis was based on Electoral Commission records reviewed by Dale Vince’s Babelfish. Vince emphasized the growing influence of wealth in UK politics and called for a ban on political donations to prevent undue influence from wealthy individuals and businesses.

Labour Party Chair Anna Turley criticized Nigel Farage and Reform UK, alleging undisclosed financial dealings and reliance on offshore funding. Turley contrasted Labour’s focus on supporting families and curbing foreign influence in politics with Farage’s alleged financial activities.

Reform UK was contacted for a response to these revelations.
