“Nigel Farage’s Residence Targeted with Petrol Bomb”

Date:

Nigel Farage recently disclosed that his residence was targeted with a petrol bomb, highlighting the risks associated with his role as a public figure. The leader of Reform UK shared that the incident occurred last year when an unidentified individual threw the bomb through his letterbox. Fortunately, Farage was not home at the time of the attack.

Farage mentioned that he was financially supported by Christopher Harborne, a billionaire based in Thailand, who contributed an estimated £5 million to enhance his security measures. The funding was provided to ensure Farage’s safety, particularly in light of previous incidents where he faced physical assaults, such as having milkshakes and a rock thrown at him during the 2024 General Election campaign.

Expressing concerns about the lack of response from authorities regarding threats made against him online, Farage emphasized the challenges he has faced in seeking assistance from the British state. He also revealed that his personal financial information had been compromised, leading Harborne to offer financial support for his security expenses in early 2024.

The undisclosed financial gift from Harborne, which was not classified as a political donation, was intended to cover Farage’s security costs for the foreseeable future. Despite previous attempts to secure funding from the Home Office, Farage stated that he had not been successful in obtaining support.

Furthermore, Farage highlighted the importance of the financial backing from Harborne in ensuring his ongoing safety, referencing an incident where they were together during a campaign event in Newcastle in 2019 when Farage was targeted with a milkshake.
