Police have publicized CCTV images of an individual they wish to converse with regarding an alleged sexual assault of a woman on a train. The woman was purportedly followed by a man on the train before the sexual assault occurred around 7pm while the train was en route from Doncaster to Wakefield on April 14.
After the alleged incident, the man alighted the train at Wakefield Westgate railway station. The British Transport Police have disclosed a photograph of the man they seek to speak to in relation to the occurrence and have urged the public to provide any relevant information.
A spokesperson for the police stated, “Investigators looking into a sexual assault on a train between Doncaster and Wakefield have published this image for reference. At approximately 7pm on Tuesday, April 14, a man on the train pursued a woman and committed a sexual assault. He then exited the train at Wakefield Westgate railway station. Authorities are interested in speaking with the individual in the image as they believe he could assist in the investigation. Anyone who can identify him is encouraged to reach out to British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 652 of April 14. Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously with Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.”
