Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are anticipated to journey to the UK soon to participate in a significant event preceding the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, accompanied by their children Archie and Lilibet, are reportedly planning to travel to Britain together for the event, expressing Harry’s deep sadness over the separation from his homeland.
Although Harry has visited the UK multiple times since stepping back from his royal duties in 2020, this upcoming trip will mark Meghan’s first return to England since attending the late Queen’s funeral in 2022.
The family is set to attend an event commemorating the one-year countdown to the Birmingham Games, fulfilling Harry’s desire to bring his loved ones back to his native country after years of yearning. An insider disclosed that Harry has been keen to introduce his children to his extended family and the UK, where he spent his formative years.
The Mirror reached out to the spokespersons of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, representatives of the Invictus Games, and Buckingham Palace for comments.
During their last visit to the UK in 2022 for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet met King Charles for the first time. It remains uncertain if the Sussexes will have a reunion with King Charles or other members of the Royal Family due to strained relationships.
Harry’s last encounter with his father was in September of the previous year during the annual WellChild Awards in London, where they shared a private tea at Clarence House. Despite Harry’s expressed wish to bring his family back to the UK, security concerns have been a significant obstacle. Although there has been no update on the security review, preparations have been made to ensure the Sussexes’ safety during their upcoming visit.
