“Princess Kate Celebrates Children’s Hospice Week”

Date:

The Princess of Wales has shared a heartfelt message during a significant week related to her royal duties. Kate honored Children’s Hospice Week by commending the crucial role that hospices play in supporting children and families to cherish every moment. She emphasized how these hospices create joyful and nurturing environments, serving as lifelines for those facing life-limiting illnesses.

As a royal patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice in South Wales, Kate highlighted the importance of Children’s Hospice Week organized by Together for Short Lives, a charity focusing on children’s palliative care.

In her letter, Kate expressed, “Every child deserves a childhood filled with joy, love, and shared memories. I have witnessed firsthand the invaluable work that children’s hospices do to make this a reality for children with serious illnesses.”

Children’s hospices provide a safe space for children to be themselves, play, communicate, and connect with others. For families, these hospices offer compassionate support and strength, providing holistic care from dedicated professionals throughout a child’s journey.

Kate emphasized the significance of these hospices in fostering connections among families, communities, and the children themselves. By shedding light on the impactful work of hospices, she aims to break down barriers that often prevent families from seeking care.

Children’s Hospice Week serves as a platform to celebrate the meaningful contributions of children’s hospices in enhancing the lives of children and families. Nick Carroll, CEO of Together for Short Lives, expressed gratitude to Kate for her ongoing support and recognition of the essential work carried out by children’s hospices nationwide.

Kate’s involvement in Children’s Hospice Week coincided with her attendance at the Garter Day procession at Windsor Castle, where she radiated joy alongside her husband, William. The royal couple participated in the procession, joining other members of the royal family, marking a significant event in the royal calendar.

Kate’s presence at the procession, adorned in an elegant outfit, was met with warmth and appreciation from the public. Her active engagement with the community and support for children’s hospices reflect her dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others.
