Remorseful Murderer Regrets Missing Video Game

Date:

A disturbing video captures a remorseful murderer expressing his sorrow over missing a video game shortly after confessing to killing his former girlfriend.

The footage starts with an audio recording of a 999 emergency call made by Robert Richens, 35, where he admits to “accidentally” causing someone’s death. He confesses to the operator, stating, “I think I accidentally killed someone,” and later admits, “I am ashamed of what I have done,” while breaking down in tears.

Subsequently, police are shown arresting Richens outside a residence in Oxford on May 30 of the previous year, following the discovery of the lifeless body of 40-year-old Rachael Vaughan inside the property. Despite efforts from emergency responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The video then depicts Richens being escorted to a police station, where he laments, “I’m going to miss GTA and that.” When an officer inquires about the specific version of the game, Richens mentions GTA 6. The officer informs him that he has a considerable wait ahead as the game is scheduled for release in November.

In a moment of despair, Richens exclaims, “Ah, I am going to get life.” He was formally charged later on that day and eventually pleaded guilty to a murder charge in December of the same year.

During a recent session at Oxford Crown Court, he received a sentence of at least 16 years and one month for the murder of Rachael.

Detective Chief Inspector Stuart May, the lead investigator, expressed, “Richens’ callous actions have led to severe consequences. The sentencing today ensures that he will be held accountable for his merciless behavior.”
