Rio Ferdinand Shares Dubai Lockdown Experience Amid Missile Strikes

Date:

Rio Ferdinand, the former Manchester United defender, recently shared his experiences during a lockdown in Dubai amidst missile strikes near his residence. Ferdinand, 47, relocated to the United Arab Emirates with his wife Kate, 34, and their children Shae, Cree, and Rio’s daughter Tia last August, joining a wave of celebrities moving to the region, including Amir Khan and Lindsey Lohan.

However, the tranquility of Dubai was disrupted by recent attacks from Iran, causing fear and uncertainty for Ferdinand and his family. He described the unsettling situation, mentioning the sounds of missiles, planes, and fighter jets overhead, emphasizing the challenge of explaining the events to his children and maintaining a sense of calm.

Despite the alarming circumstances, Ferdinand expressed feeling secure and well-protected within his residence, which he referred to as his “bunker.” Kate, in a separate update, reassured followers of their safety after a “very scary night,” emphasizing the government’s efforts to ensure their well-being.

Their older children, Lorenz and Tate, remained in the United Kingdom to pursue their football careers while the rest of the family faced the challenges of the Dubai lockdown. The family is grateful for the support and prayers received during this trying time.
