The spouse of Rob Burrow expressed admiration for Kevin Sinfield as news broke that Kevin Sinfield is set to receive a knighthood. The Mirror exclusively revealed that the rugby league icon and fundraiser for Motor Neurone Disease, Kevin Sinfield, aged 45, will be honored in the King’s Birthday Honours for his exceptional dedication in memory of his late friend and Leeds Rhinos team-mate, Rob Burrow, who passed away from the illness at the age of 41.

Kevin Sinfield, known for participating in numerous challenging marathons, has raised a remarkable £11 million for MND charities over the years. Rob Burrow’s wife, Lindsey, conveyed congratulations on behalf of the Burrow family, emphasizing Kevin’s significant contributions to raising awareness and funds to support families affected by MND and advance research.

Acknowledging the honor, Kevin highlighted his gratitude for the recognition, attributing his success to the support of the rugby and MND communities. He reflected on his illustrious rugby career, captaining Leeds Rhinos to 15 major honors before retiring in 2015.

In response to the knighthood, Kevin reiterated his commitment to supporting the MND community until a cure is found, drawing inspiration from his friendship with Rob Burrow and the courage displayed in his battle with the disease. He emphasized the importance of continued efforts to assist the thousands affected by MND in the UK.

Having previously received an MBE and an OBE for his achievements, Kevin’s dedication to the cause has been unwavering. The upcoming 7 in 7 challenge, “The Grand Finale,” will see him embark on a marathon journey between Hull and Manchester, visiting all 12 English Super League grounds, culminating in a special finish at the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford.
