Disturbing photographs have revealed the extreme methods used by Vince Agar in his disturbing quest to control vulnerable women in Middlesbrough. During the trial at Teesside Crown Court, images of Agar’s fortified residence on Parliament Road were presented, showcasing additional doors, weapons strewn about, and surveillance equipment he utilized to oversee those ensnared in his drug trade grip.
Following his accountability for the severe abuse inflicted on two women, Agar was handed a 19-year prison sentence by Judge Richard Bennett, who labeled him a “sadistic bully” that took pleasure in dominating some of society’s most defenseless women. Agar, a Middlesbrough native, had a history of violence, including a previous conviction for a brutal attack on a woman in 2001.
Agar’s reign of terror took place in a flat on Parliament Road, where he operated a drug business, predominantly targeting individuals struggling with addiction, particularly women and girls. His victims were subjected to horrific acts of violence, including beatings, burns, and threats of harm.
The court heard how Agar maintained a heavily secured residence with additional doors and trapdoors to prevent access and escape, forming part of his sinister control tactics. Agar’s victims endured prolonged suffering, with one victim describing the flat as a “torture chamber” equipped with restraining equipment.
Despite attempts to evade justice, Agar was eventually extradited back to Middlesbrough to face the consequences of his actions. After a lengthy trial, where his victims had to recount their harrowing experiences, Agar was found guilty and sentenced to 19 years in prison. Judge Bennett emphasized the severity of Agar’s crimes and the lasting impact on his victims, stating that justice had finally caught up with him after 25 years of evading accountability.
