A recent shocking video has emerged, shedding light on the tragic crash in Bolton that claimed the lives of four individuals. The footage captured a driver reaching speeds exceeding 120mph, dangerously maneuvering through traffic lanes. This video has become a crucial part of the police investigation surrounding the fatal collision on Wigan Road.
In the video, a car can be seen speeding down a crowded street, overtaking vehicles and swerving into oncoming traffic lanes. At one point, the speedometer registers a staggering 122mph. Allegedly filmed by a passenger in the Seat Leon involved in the crash, the video depicts the reckless driving that led to the demise of three teenagers inside the car and a 54-year-old taxi driver in a Citroen C4 Picasso.
Identified as Masrob Ali, the taxi driver tragically lost his life in the collision. The distressing video, timestamped at 3am on Saturday morning, just hours before the fatal crash at 12.50am on Sunday, has circulated widely on social media platforms.
Authorities from Greater Manchester Police are actively examining the video as part of their inquiries into the incident. The crash occurred when the red Seat collided head-on with the Picasso on Wigan Road, resulting in the deaths of the Seat’s driver and two passengers.
The deceased individuals from the Seat were named as Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, Farhan Patel, and Mohammed Danyaal, aged 18 and 19. Additionally, five injured passengers were transported to hospitals, including a 29-year-old woman with severe injuries.
Mr. Ali’s family described him as a kind-hearted individual and a dedicated taxi driver of a decade. His daughter, Humayra, expressed disbelief at the tragic news, emphasizing her father’s safe driving habits.
Detective Inspector Andrew Page from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit emphasized ongoing efforts to uncover the circumstances of the incident. He urged caution in sharing sensitive footage on social media, acknowledging the emotional toll on the affected families.
