Richard Lamplugh, in his latest statement following revelations of police probing Wright’s connections to Suzy in 1986, emphasized the importance of interviewing Wright, who is serving a life sentence for killing six women, based on new testimonies linking him to Suzy’s time on the QE2 cruise ship.
Richard, 66, from Kemnay, Scotland, stressed the necessity of exploring all leads, suggesting that interviewing Wright in prison could potentially provide crucial information. Suzy, aged 25, went missing in 1986 after meeting a client known as “Mr. Kipper” in Fulham, London, and her body was never recovered, leading to her being declared presumed murdered in 1993.
The renewed focus on Wright comes after Scotland Yard previously identified John Cannan as the main suspect in 2002, although insufficient evidence prevented charges against him. With Wright’s recent admission to another murder case in 1999, Richard acknowledged the possibility of authorities misdirecting their investigations and urged Wright to disclose any relevant details to bring closure to his family’s long-standing anguish.
