A delighted father who emerged victorious on ITV’s Tipping Point used the prize money to fund IVF treatment for his wife, resulting in the birth of triplets. Jamie McEvoy secured a £3,000 prize in an episode that aired recently but was recorded three years ago.
At the time of filming, Jamie and his wife Hayley, who met during their studies at Manchester University, already had a one-year-old son named Otis and were undergoing IVF to expand their family.
Following a failed IVF attempt, Jamie, aged 30, shared, “We thought we couldn’t afford another round.” He opted to allocate his winnings towards another IVF cycle to provide Otis with a sibling. Jamie expressed his joy at participating in the TV show, noting the support of host Ben Shephard and describing the experience as fantastic.
The couple endured multiple rounds of treatments, totaling £30,000, before Hayley discovered she was pregnant with triplets through a home test in late 2024. A subsequent scan confirmed the presence of three babies in her womb.
Hayley recounted her shock upon learning about the triplets, expressing her initial happiness turning into concern due to medical warnings. Despite the risks, she remained positive throughout, keeping the news from Jamie initially to prevent stress.
When informed, Jamie was initially speechless but praised Hayley’s unwavering positivity, stating her resilience was crucial during the challenging period. The triplets, a girl named Nova and two boys named Jasper and Billy, were born healthy on June 4, 2025.
Ben Shephard, the show’s host, conveyed his excitement for the family through a social media post, emphasizing the special moments and stories that make the show meaningful since its inception in 2012.
