“Teen and Adult Charged in Essex Schoolboy Murder”

Two individuals appeared in court charged with the murder of Bobby Bloomfield, a tragic schoolboy who was fatally hit by a car in Essex. The accused, a 15-year-old boy and William Lunnon, 43, were remanded in custody after the incident at Chelmsford Magistrates Court. Bobby, a student at Shenfield High School, passed away in hospital from severe injuries sustained in Pilgrims Hatch.

According to the prosecutor, the victim and his friends were asked to leave private property by Lunnon, leading to an alleged chase by the defendants in a car. The 15-year-old defendant, dressed in a quarter-zip jumper and jeans, and Lunnon, in a grey prison tracksuit, appeared in court for a preliminary hearing and will face further proceedings at Chelmsford Crown Court.

In relation to the case, Essex Police have arrested four other individuals from Pilgrims Hatch on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. The investigation by the Serious Crime Directorate is ongoing, aiming to gather all necessary details. Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood emphasized the importance of information from the public to support Bobby’s family and aid the investigation.

Bobby’s family released a poignant statement expressing their devastation over the loss of their son. Comedian Josh James, Bobby’s cousin, shared a heartfelt tribute online, highlighting the profound impact Bobby had on their lives. The community mourns the loss of Bobby, remembering him fondly and cherishing his memory.
