“Teen in Critical Condition After Train-Surfing Mishap”

Date:

A 16-year-old teenager is in critical condition after he fell from a moving train while attempting a dangerous “train-surfing” stunt in Sydney, Australia. The incident took place between St Peters and Sydenham stations in Sydney’s inner west.

Emergency services responded to the scene on Saturday, June 13, where the teenager suffered serious head and arm injuries. He was promptly treated by New South Wales Ambulance workers before being transported to Royal Price Alfred Hospital.

The boy’s condition is reported as critical but stable by Australian news site news.com.au. According to NSW Police, the teen fell from the side of a moving train carriage onto the tracks, prompting an ongoing investigation into the incident.

The incident occurred on a Tangara model train, known as a T-set, as reported by The Daily Telegraph. This train type has been under scrutiny for its association with the dangerous “train-surfing” trend. In response, the New South Wales government has committed to equipping all double-decker T-set trains with anti-surfing devices by the end of 2026.

The incident has caused significant disruption to rail services, and authorities are actively working to ensure the safety of passengers and prevent similar incidents in the future.
