Tragic fall at bonfire event claims man’s life

A tragic incident resulted in the death of a man at a popular bonfire event. The man, identified as Warren “AKA” Lyttle, reportedly fell from the Braniel’s Eleventh Night bonfire in Belfast on Friday night. Despite being rushed to the hospital that same night, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.

According to a statement from the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the authorities were alerted on Saturday afternoon about the man’s death following the fall at the bonfire site. Investigations are ongoing, and the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland has been notified.

In response to the heartbreaking loss, the Braniel Bonfire Committee, Braniel Loyal Flute Band, and Braniel Community Group expressed their condolences and announced that the bonfire would proceed as planned at the request of the victim’s family. They urged attendees to observe a minute of silence before the bonfire lighting and to show respect throughout the event.

Dundela Social Club, as reported by BelfastLive, described the victim as a familiar and cherished member who will be deeply missed. The club extended their sympathies to Warren Lyttle’s family and friends, remembering him as a valued presence at the club.
