“Trump Holds Back-to-Back Meetings with Zelensky and Netanyahu”

Date:

Donald Trump met with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. The meetings were held back-to-back as both leaders were in Washington DC to attend the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham.

Senator Graham had been a key ally to both Zelensky and Netanyahu, facilitating communication between their countries and the White House. The meetings with Trump were not open to the press.

After the meeting, Zelensky expressed gratitude on social media for the productive discussions and the ongoing support from the Trump administration in Ukraine’s conflict with Russia, which began over four years ago.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt described the meetings with Zelensky and Netanyahu as positive and fruitful. Trump welcomed Zelensky to honor Senator Graham, who had recently visited Kyiv to secure a sanctions agreement aimed at countries buying Russian exports.

In a television interview, Trump praised Senator Graham’s unwavering support for Ukraine. He noted Graham’s advocacy for dealing with Iran but did not mention any similar stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Zelensky raised concerns about Russia’s involvement in aiding Iran during the ongoing conflict, pointing to satellite imagery showing US bases in the Gulf region that later appeared in Iran. He emphasized the global importance of not ignoring malicious actions that fuel further instability.
