UK Faces Snow and Rain Mix This Week

Date:

The UK could see snow affecting specific regions this Friday, as predicted by the Met Office. The upcoming week is anticipated to bring gloomy weather with periods of rain and drizzle on Tuesday. Heavy rain is forecasted for southern areas, followed by a mix of sunshine and showers. The Met Office also expects cloudy and damp conditions elsewhere on Wednesday, with further rainy spells expected throughout the week. By Friday, the weather may turn colder and brighter.

The drop in temperature could lead to snow showers in certain areas, particularly in the north and east, according to the Met Office. BBC Weather forecasts a cloudy start with sporadic rain on Wednesday, followed by more rain overnight. Thursday and Friday are expected to remain cloudy with light rain, potentially transitioning to wintry showers later on Friday.

Yellow weather warnings for rain are in effect in parts of northern and eastern Scotland this week, with up to 60mm of rainfall expected. Additional alerts for heavy rain and potential snow accumulation above 300m are issued for Central, Tayside & Fife and Grampian regions on Wednesday.

Looking ahead, the Met Office suggests continued unsettled weather towards mid-February, with the possibility of rain and strong winds. While milder conditions are expected for many areas, colder weather may affect northern and northeastern parts periodically.
