“UK Man Charged After Son’s Tragic Hotel Fall in Cyprus”

Date:

A man from the UK faces charges of negligence after his three-year-old son tragically fell to his death from a fourth-floor hotel window in Cyprus. The incident occurred in Chloraka, Paphos, while the child was reportedly playing with his father.

Emergency services responded to the scene around 6.40 pm on July 12 but found the boy unresponsive upon arrival. He was rushed to Paphos General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The father, aged 37, was taken into custody following the incident.

The family, including a five-year-old girl, was on holiday and had just arrived that day. The boy’s grandfather witnessed the tragedy as they were heading downstairs for dinner.

The father appeared in court the next day, where authorities requested an eight-day remand to aid their investigation. Reports indicate that the father broke down in tears during the court session, causing a brief pause.

Authorities have charged the father with causing death through a reckless or dangerous act, as well as neglect of duty and responsibility towards the child. The UK Foreign Office has stated that they are providing support to the family and are in contact with local authorities regarding the tragic event.
