The upcoming week is anticipated to bring pleasant weather, with temperatures steadily increasing and peaking on Thursday afternoon. A spokesperson from NetWeather commented that Thursday is expected to be drier and sunnier with only isolated light showers, leading to warmer temperatures reaching the mid-teens in England, Wales, and eastern Scotland, possibly even reaching the high teens in eastern England.
Forecasts from the Metdesk team suggest even higher temperatures around 20C in areas like Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, and Greater London. The favorable weather conditions have some experts likening the period to a “mini heatwave,” with several days of sunshine and dry weather expected across most regions, particularly in the East of England.
However, there may be thunderstorms in some areas on Wednesday despite the warm temperatures. Northern Ireland and parts of the Northwest of England could experience thundery conditions, while Wales might see bleak weather on Wednesday.
Looking towards the end of the week and the weekend, weather patterns are expected to shift. The Met Office acknowledges this change, noting that temperatures are forecasted to be “warmer than average” until at least the following week. The agency spokesperson also mentioned that many regions, especially in the north and east, are likely to experience dry and warm conditions with temperatures staying above average.
The rise in temperatures is likely to pose challenges for hayfever sufferers, with approximately 16 million affected individuals in the UK. An NHS GP is recommending hayfever sufferers to consider different remedies along with traditional treatments like antihistamines and nasal sprays to combat spring allergens, especially when spending time outdoors.
