The partner of a young British woman who was fatally shot by her father in the US expressed shock at hearing the details for the first time in a UK court. Lucy Harrison, 23, was tragically killed by her father, Kris Harrison, while visiting his home in Texas just days after Christmas on December 28, 2024. The shooting occurred on January 10, right before Lucy and her boyfriend were set to depart for the airport.
Following an investigation, a Texas grand jury decided not to charge Kris Harrison, leading to no criminal case being pursued. Lucy’s boyfriend, Sam Littler, raised concerns about the grand jury’s decision and questioned if all evidence was presented to them.
During an inquest held at Cheshire Coroner’s Court on February 11, it was revealed that Kris Harrison took Lucy into his bedroom moments before the tragic incident. Witnesses heard a loud noise, and upon rushing to the room, they discovered Lucy’s lifeless body on the floor.
The coroner ruled Lucy’s death as unlawful killing, but no charges were filed after a grand jury reviewed the case. Sam Littler, speaking out after the inquest, shared his shock at hearing the evidence presented and agreed with the coroner’s findings.
