The family of a woman who tragically lost her life in a dog attack fondly recalls her as a lively and comedic individual who was adored by all. Lila Hall, also known as Carol, passed away after an incident involving two dogs at a residence on Willis Pearson Avenue in Wolverhampton. Responders arrived at the scene late in the evening on April 15, but sadly, the 78-year-old was pronounced dead on-site. The attack occurred around 11:30 pm.
In a released statement through West Midlands Police, Carol’s family described her as outgoing, humorous, and a friend to everyone. They expressed gratitude to the emergency services and appreciated the supportive messages and gestures from loved ones.
The dogs involved, not owned by Lila, were euthanized at the location and were confirmed not to be of a banned breed, according to Birmingham Live. A spokesperson for the force extended condolences to Lila’s family and friends, acknowledging the distress within the community and ensuring ongoing support from officers in the area. The dogs underwent evaluations by the local authorities and an external police force, ruling out any banned breed classification.
Following the incident, a 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of managing a dangerously out-of-control dog that led to fatal injuries. He has been released on police bail as investigations are ongoing. Authorities urge individuals with relevant information to contact them by dialing 101 or utilizing the live chat feature on www.west-midlands.police.uk, referencing log number 6073 dated April 15.
