“Woman Arrested in Teen’s Murder Case: Body Found”

Date:

A woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the disappearance of a teenager named Taylor Charlton in north Devon. The 15-year-old was last seen on May 8, and efforts were underway to locate him. Recent developments led to the discovery of a body believed to be Taylor’s in the River Taw near Sticklepath, Barnstaple.

Devon and Cornwall Police received new information that prompted the arrest of the woman, who is currently being interviewed as part of the investigation. Although the suspect is held on suspicion of murder, authorities emphasize that this is a new lead and the investigation is in its early stages.

Family members of Taylor have been notified of the latest developments and are receiving support from trained officers. This arrest marks the second in Taylor’s case, following the earlier detention of a 20-year-old man on suspicion of murder, who was later released on bail.

Taylor, who turned 15 since his disappearance, was last seen on CCTV near a footpath close to the Tarka leisure center in Barnstaple, heading towards the River Taw. His parents have made emotional appeals for his safe return, expressing their love and concern for him.

The discovery of suspected human remains in the River Taw led to the recovery of a body, with formal identification pending. The family has been informed and is being supported by specialists. Authorities urge the community to refrain from speculation and await official updates as investigations continue.
