Woman Avoids Baggage Fee by Wearing 6 Outfits

Date:

A woman creatively avoided a baggage fee at the airport by wearing all the clothes from her suitcase. Carla Brunella managed to fit into six outfits after being informed that her bag was too large to qualify as a free personal item.

During her Ryanair flight from Verona, Italy, to Manchester, the 27-year-old was advised to pay a fee for her oversized hand luggage. Instead of forking out £70 for the charge, Carla opted to layer herself with multiple garments before going through security.

Carla, a mental health worker from Spain, expressed that she anticipated the situation when she realized her bag exceeded the size limit. She decided to wear all her clothes to avoid paying any extra charges, stating that she had no intention of spending more money.

Purchasing the flight for £43 in May, Carla donned six full outfits by the time she reached the boarding gate. She mentioned feeling uncomfortable and attracting attention from onlookers but was relieved not to incur the fine and quickly removed the excess clothing once past the gate control.

Sharing a video of her attire at the airport, Carla’s clip garnered over 455,000 views, with mixed reactions from viewers. Some commended her ingenuity, while others suggested simply paying the fee. Despite the challenges of the situation, Carla successfully avoided the extra cost associated with her luggage.
